Statement

Amigos de las Aves was formed by Richard and Margot Frisius in 1980 and is run exclusively by them. It is a non profit organization based in Costa Rica The conservation program is a re-introduction and release program for the Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao) and the Great Green Macaw (Ara ambigua).

NB: Amigos de las Aves USA, AdlAUSA, Janice Boyd and Greg Matuzak are not associated in any way with Amigos de las Aves in Costa Rica, nor with their release projects in Tiskita, Curu or elsewhere, since April and February 2004 respectively. They are not authorised to work on our project, or with the birds within the release program.


We would like to take the opportunity to thank Janice and Amigos de las Aves USA for all their support over the past few years and we wish them luck in future ventures.
