The Toronto Maple Leafs are dealing with a number of problems right now. The team is not performing well in terms of scoring, goals against, power play, penalty kill, shot attempts, and expected goals. The main issue is the inability of the defense to hold up, leading to casualties of John Klingberg, Mark Giordano, Jake McCabe, and others. The Leafs have unsuccessfully pursued Nikita Zadorov and Chris Tanev to strengthen their blue line. Their bottom lines are also struggling, dragging the team down in games. The Leafs’ top players are still delivering, but the team’s overall inconsistency shows that they are stuck in between trying to figure out their game. The Leafs need to play their style better than anyone else, but they are currently heading towards being nothing if they continue on this path.
