Kevin Durant Claps Back at Report of ‘Frustration’

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN revealed on Christmas Day that members of the Suns were feeling that Durant was getting upset with the team and their list of injured players. According to Wojnarowski, Phoenix “has got to change soon” in order to right the ship. Durant has reacted to this report, as well as the fan criticism, saying that the report is untrue. The Suns power forward commented on an Instagram video citing a tweet asking “Has Kevin Durant checked out?”. The comment has been deleted. Durant revealed that he had to be better and his turnovers are “holding the team back,” after finishing with a season-low performance in Phoenix’s Christmas loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Durant’s scoring of 30.3 points per game is his second-best, and his highest since his MVP season in 2013-2014 with the Oklahoma Thunder. He is also averaging 5.5 assists per game, tied for fourth-most in his 17 years of play. At 14-15, the Suns are currently half a game out of the Western Conference Play-In Tournament.
