The New England Patriots may bring back coach Josh McDaniels while Bill Belichick remains head coach, according to The Athletic. Belichick has also held a meeting with team owner Robert Kraft and may be willing to make concessions to save his job. Kraft reportedly considered parting ways with Belichick but now is interested in McDaniels as a solution to improve the team’s performance. However, many former coaches from the Belichick era have not been successful when given their own opportunities. Hiring McDaniels again, who previously held head coaching positions in Denver and Las Vegas, may not be the best path forward. It may be better for the franchise to move on from familiar faces and seek new talent to improve the team’s prospects.
